Sorry about your loss - I found arguing a little took the edge off of "what do I get my parents who have everything". Maybe a donation in their name to an appropriate organization. Some people need a lot of help.

We buy my mom experiences. So tickets to a play, concerts, ballet, etc. That way she hasn't got cumulations of stuff.
To be sure, a few prezzies to open on Christmas, but the big one is a going out present.

This year I was prepared to give up my usual "Kill Christmas" thread.
But so much has happened in the past few days I think I'll revive it.
Car died.
Someone's *bleep* at me.
House to decommission is not yielding tantalizing treasures that will make us retired or rich.
Christmas box is still in the livingroom.
