I wish it was here...

I love a good thunderstorm. It makes life interesting.

...looking at the radar - I'd be willing to bet things will get interesting around Kelowna in about an hour or two...

There seems to be a significant difference in weather between the large "uphill" part of South East Kelowna and the much smaller "Valley" part of S-E Kelowna. We have not had any moisture of any type in the Valley area when others are reporting hail and rain. It seems to be a common phenomena in both summer and winter.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons that they put the airport in the E-W Valley rather than to N-S Valley between Penticton and West Kelowna.

Kelowna airport is also in a N-S valley. The difference is that it's a bit drier and a lot less windy than the parallel Okanagan Valley.

I take it all back. We just got our share of gusty wind followed by sideways rain followed by heavy rain; all backed up by a 20 minute thunder and lightning "etude". Bright sky showing in the west again.

Just a helpful tip for all the dog owners who have dogs that are afraid and stressed about thunderstorms. Try the " Thundershirt". I have found it in the big pet store near London Drugs in Kelowna and I know a lot of other pet stores are carrying them now for the simple reason....... they actually work. Amazing successes. Really read the instructions as they have to be fitted properly, which if you read carefully, it is easy to do. I highly recommend it. It is amazing and based on a solid principle similar to swaddling a baby, I think.
