Gas prices take big leap

Still $131.9 on gasbuddy

It would appear the gas war that has gripped the Central Okanagan the past few days is over.
Prices began falling to $131.9 for a litre of regular on the weekend.
That is coming to an abrupt end.
The Petro Can at Richter and Harvey has boosted its price to $145.9 Tuesday morning.
One gas retailer told Castanet on the weekend the gas war wouldn't last long, saying the price should have been around $143.9.

Re: Gas $143.9
On average gas in Vancouver is $1.509/ltr right now. They have over 11 cents/ltr in transit taxes we don't have and get most of their fuel from the US which our weak Cdn dollar also more dramatically effects versus the Okanagn where we get our gas from Edmonton Alta, so just why is gas only 5 cent/ltr less in the Okanagan and not at least 11 cents/ltr less ? Just who in the supply chain is making the extra 6+ cents/ltr ?

That is a very interesting question.

Translink tax is 17 cents/ litre.
I just got back from Vancouver, there were a few stations in Vancouver itself that were charing 150.9 or above, but pretty much all the other stations in Metro Vancouver were charging 139.9-141.9 / litre, but again, that was last week's prices, so minus the Translink tax, that would be 122.9-124.9 / litre.

Gas is cheaper at night or before 6 am. About ten cents less at a few spots

It doesn't mater what they charge, there are just too many idiots who will continue buying the biggest fuel pigs they can find and still continue giving the gas companies everything they ask for.
If we all owned tiny fuel efficient cars, and only drove when necessary they may actually change their ways.
That is the reason Ford is stopping production of most of their cars

Prices would go up even more, less demand for the product, they would need to maintain their profit margins somehow. If there was a viable completion, such as EVs then prices may go down to convince people to keep their fuel powered cars.

Re: Gas $143.9
Watch the price of gas jump $0.10 -$0.15 cents/litre by mid-week... because we have too much oil
