Ford Escapes--Transmission problems??

I have a 2008 Ford Escape. In March 2012 the transmission blew at just under 100,000 kms. This vehicle has never towed anything. Ford in Kelowna installed a brand new transmission under warranty and here I am, 60,000 km later and the transmission is toast again. Apparently I have no recourse. I can have a rebuilt transmission for $3500.00 (no warranty) or $5500.00 for a brand new transmission. I would think that the new transmission put in in 2012 would be warranted, but apparently it is not. They have offered me $2500.00 for a trade in or lease option. Anyone else having problems with the Ford Escape transmissions???
