Post by Catz »

I have a leak and want to replace the valve from the intake at the wall. I cannot get the compression nut off at all. I have 2 wrenches and have tried wd40. Other than buy a haxsaw...anything else I can do?

Is the valve shot? are the lines metal? If so you can use a touch to heat it up, and get something better the WD40.

almost anything is better then that crap. try Pb Blaster, it's at Canadian tire.

You could try a snipe for more leverage.

WD-40 is used for displacing water hence the name, water displacement, 40th attempt. Not good for lubrication.

Well...I am covered in poop, flooded my bathroom, apparently you have to turn the hot water tank off , as well, the neighbor ran over because he heard me yelling. Got the nut off, though....there are no threads on the other side...thus, I should have set up a camera to video tape it and made some money off of this....
