Any other tv than a plasma and maybe I'd take a floor model but plasma tvs have burn in to worry about.
Not that I'm opposed to a weekend on the Oregon coast but how much duty is there on a 1500$ tv?

That includes gst and pst, which make up over $200 of that. You would pay the gst and pst if you bought the tv in bc so the duty is not much.
