A Texas city council meeting nearly went down the drain when the mayor forgot to switch off his microphone during a bathroom break.

Lawmakers in Georgetown struggled to keep straight faces as Mayor Dale Ross could be heard taking a leak during what should have been a serious debate about antibiotic resistance.

Councilwoman Rachel Jonrowe had just begun her speech when the sounds of Ross, who got up to relieve himself, resonated over the speakers.

Video shows Jonrowe descending into a fit of giggles.
