As soon as I read about there being only 7 bees, I immediately thought of the Monty Python song "every sperm is sacred".

So have the bees been rescued and relocated to a new home?

Interesting site. At the house I work at there is an abundance of red raspberry bushes through out the yard and the bees LOVE them. There won't be a bee on any other flowers in the yard, but there will be a party at the raspberry bushes. Interesting to read it is one of the pollinator-friendly plants in BC!

^^^I hear ya WhatWhat...there are a LOT of 'time wasters' up here on the farm.
Watchin' the long-legged baby colts play in the pasture, seeing the lambs and goat kids playing "King of the Manure Pile" with each other...spying on the ducklings as they take their first swim...but the BIGGEST "time waster" of all is following the diligent worker bees as they carefully sort through each petal, stamen and anther getting covered in pollen and then drunkenly buzzing back to the hive with their 'pants' full of pollen and tummy full of flowery goodness.
Beekeeping is a very grounding experience...puts the World in a whole new perspective.

Update : OP posted some pics for me and it turns out that bumblebee's and wasps have decided to both make a nest under the OP's porch. You can't capture or farm honey with bumblebees and a wasps nest is just a pain in the *bleep*.

It's a very common mistake that people make confusing bee's/wasps/bumblebee's etc.

These are what we have locally to deal with :

Were you able to get rid of the wasps? Can you relocate the bumbles for him? I like bumble bees. They may not produce honey, but they're a good pollinator.

Bumblebee hives are too small to relocate and they nest inside structures. They do not behave like honeybees either.

My advice was to plug up the hole in the day when the bumblebees were mostly out flying. They will try to return and when they can't they will find a new home. Given there is a wasps nest apparently inside the space with the bee's it proves to be a very unique and unfortunate situation. Once the wasps nest got big enough it would have taken the bumblebees out anyways - both doomed from the start.
