Latest Headlines?

Post by Bsuds »

It seems strange to me that Castanet thinks that listing a Column in their "Latest Headlines" would be considered News.
It's not a big issue but I just think it's not a "News" item that should be there.

Anyone else feel the same?

It does sort out old new from new news so that the readers do not have to filter through all of the news items to determine what is new. Some of us retirees just don't have the time lol.

It makes one wonder at what point does an item move from Latest Headlines to not latest headlines ??

Another thing I sometimes find annoying is I click on a headline thinking it's something local and it's something halfway around the World. Would be nice if they had different sections to the "latest headlines".

I guess I'm the only one who finds this strange.

Since when is a column on restoring lost files a "latest headline"?

Come on Castanet, there are a lot of better stories out there!

This big headline I just saw under the Castanet forecast:

Angelina Jolie found dead
Jolie was found dead in her home today. Brad Pitt called to the police and explained that Go to ossasnews.com

Is Castanet becoming the Enquirer and do they want people to say they read about this on Castanet? Or is she dead? I don't click on links that look like scams.

Also do we need 2 identical news stories under latest headlines with different titles?

Didn't know where to post this but it's horrendous.

Landmark is uniqueness growing or does Landmark Buildings attract unique tenants?

Is this one of those direct translations from Chinese or do people in the industry just not know English?

What's wrong with that?

You'd have to have a good grasp of the English language to understand.

Be curious as to how it should have read to reflect the intent and still keep it short. Is the Landmark Building growing in uniqueness or does the Landmark Building attract unique tenants? Maybe delete it altogether.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Uniqueness | Define Uniqueness at Dictionary.com
www.dictionary.com/browse/uniqueness
Many authors of usage guides, editors, teachers, and others feel strongly that such “absolute” words as complete, equal, perfect, and especially unique cannot be compared because of their “meaning”: a word that denotes an absolute condition cannot be described as denoting more or less than that absolute condition.

As it's so obvious it's a very poorly constructed sentence and obviously I noticed the mistakes or I wouldn't have posted it, once again I will have to assume you're trolling.

There was/is nothing wrong with the sentence.

There's lots wrong with the sentence. Fancy worded it correctly and it's a guarantee that if her and I agree on something it's most likely correct.
