Old Nursery Songs and Rhymes
This was one of my Nana's favourites:
I went to the store, to get something to eat
Cause I felt so hungry from my head to my feet
So I picked up a donut and wiped off the grease
And I handed the lady a one cent piece.
She looked at the penny and she looked at me
And she said little girl can't you plainly see
There's a hole in the penny, there's a hole right through
Well said I there's a hole in the donut too
I went to the store, to get something to eat
Cause I felt so hungry from my head to my feet
So I picked up a donut and wiped off the grease
And I handed the lady a one cent piece.
She looked at the penny and she looked at me
And she said little girl can't you plainly see
There's a hole in the penny, there's a hole right through
Well said I there's a hole in the donut too
We leak as rivers
