No Quail yet, although we have had them in the yard from Spring to Fall. I will be buying more feeders to turn my yard into a bird sanctuary.

I have this poem on the wall in my living room, I really don't reflect on it enough.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Mom used to feed the quail around our house......until.....strata council sent her a letter to cease and desist feeding the wildlife order.
Just another reason for me wanting to move from Kelowna.

Costco has the cheapest bird seed. Quite a bit cheeper (lol) than Buckerfields. If I remember correctly it's $11.49 for 18k
We go through a bag every couple of weeks.

We have a couple of Squirrels that take care of the Sunflower seeds and are fun to watch trying to get at them.
Foxy likes them too. Not! (The Squirrels not the Sunflower seeds)
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.
That's worked out great for me!

More of a reason to never live somewhere with a Strata! They have those almost anywhere.

I knew Costco had it cheaper but I didn't feel like driving into Kelowna that day and Buckerfields is just blocks away.

Strata Council=Dictatorship LOL I would never want to live in a strata. I do work for strata's and that is enough.

Speaking of Costco, is it true that they're moving out to somewhere around UBCO? I've heard that they want to have a gas bar and that's the reason for the move. Or is this just fake news? Another part of the story is that IKEA might be moving into the existing Coscto space and that absolutely must be fake news.

Oh no, I don't want Costco to be further out, I might think I'm living in a city.

Just had the best news, dinner is tomorrow night, not tonight. Wheeeewwww, that was a close one. Happy New Year everyone.

Happy New Year you lovely bunch! :D

I probably won't be awake to roll in 2017. It would cut into my reading time. :-X

Yeah, I'm reading a steamy romance. "The Great Santini". [icon_lol2.gif] It's actually a re-read.

First one is fake, although there are talks of them opening one on Westside.

Second is uber fake. Our region is too small even if you put all people in beween Armstrong and Ossoyoos together.

We all need some hope going into the new Year. This season can create much angst and mixed feelings and emotions. I share in these feelings with you. I think that is what prompted me to buy the bird feeder, I was needing a bit of joy. I look forward to putting this holiday season behind me and have life return to its normal rhythms.

To all feeling angst and uncertainties, always remember there are people here who are compassionate and understanding, you know who they are.... just PM them if needing encouragement, laughter or a slap.

May 2017 bring us joy and good health.

Why the month of May specifically? [icon_lol2.gif]

Happy New Year to each of you! :130:
