I have often wondered what fuel is used running trucks.
Some have pipes running up behind the driver emitting greasy black putrid smoke, especially when they are gearing up.
Is that bunker fuel going up in smoke?

Self driving vehicles still have a long way to come before they become mainstream and viable. I doubt it will impact it my life time.
Depends what trucker you talk too. I would say most are unsatisfied and would find something to complain about.
Highlight for me is the constant change and seeing new places.

Most trucks are diesel. Not sure why they emitting greasy black putrid smoke unless its having mechanical issues or the owner had it chipped and hes rolling coal on purpose.

I drive a day cab. Seats 2 legally.

Traction Control was developed because of new seat warmers and steering wheel holders.
Drivers can do the job better.
Give the left foot a try, it does take time and practice, lots of it.
But, I assure you, if you truly put the time in to get your modulation (pressures) right,
You will spend the rest of your young career with it's use and advantage.
Hone your craft and have fun with it.

Who are those nice ladies who seem to be really friendly at that big truck stop/gas station outside of Hope?
It can be really cold out and they are still wearing really short skirts.
Maybe they are lost? Or maybe taking orders for food as they go from truck to truck? They sure are friendly though.

Since Catepillar is out of the on road engine market.
Cummins, Detroit or Paccar MX ?
How much down-time with the newer Generation Emissions Engines ?
Tandem or Tri drive ? If Tri, how is it on suspension, wheel end, and wheel components ?
Tire scrub ?
For me; Nothing as fine as my W9...W900L Kenworth
C-15 Cat. Barring unfortunates, I'll never replace it.
EV's have to go on a diet to be viable in over the road, payload is king.
For municipal work, likely the way to go. Refuse compactors, P&D,
I guess even the plow and sand segment,
I do like the idea of being able to flip a switch and have an Electric
Regenerating Motor add power to additional wheels for start, stop, climb,
and low traction situations though.
There again, weight is the enemy.
Them girls affectionately know as Lot Lizards are just lookin' for their Daddy.....

What does "AMA" stand for? I thought it was for Against Medical Advice. That term I am familiar with.

The truck I drove for the last 12 years had a CAT C15 twin turbo pre nox all juiced up. Very fun to drive. Nothing beats the C15 6NZ or the C16 though.
The new truck Im driving has the brand new cummings engine in a tri drive pulling a quad trailer. Its been different and its taking a bit to get use too but I like it.
