A potpourri of off-topics.

What I find immoral is them charging the same prices online than in store, without the expenses of a brick-and-mortar business.

At least offer free shipping ya know.

Do you not think the inventory has to be kept in some bricks and mortar location?
Do paid personnel not have to prepare it for transport?

What? Does it materialize on the USS Enterprise and then get beamed on down to a carrier?

They don't have to pay for a $10,000 business license per store, nor cute fancy little displays or a clerk to welcome us or shipping their product from the warehouse to the local store.

Paying for one warehouse is much cheaper than paying for tens of individual stores.

I’m thinking inventory will be pulled from the store nearest the recipient.

That’s not to say the model cannot or will not be changed pending actual demand after being open a while.

Alternately, it could come from a Richmond location because of Canada Post’s dumb move of everything being mailed for local delivery here goes there for sorting and then back up here for delivery.

What is it with these people? Jealousy? Government Liquor store employees are given a heckuvalot better training than the private liquor shops, and I will venture a guess that the MJ training will be no different. From my experience, the product knowledge from a BLCB sales associate is almost always better than that of an underpaid cashier (checking her phone every 30 seconds) at most private stores. Of course there are some exceptions in that there are a handful of boutique stores that have a different vibe with knowledgeable staff... oh, yeah: their prices are HIGHER than BLCB stores.

My guess he's upset that he would like to get the product at a reasonable price and not inflated tremendously to pay for the government's share and somebody very much over paid to work a cash register. I tend to agree with that. The wage should fit the work or skill level necessary. Let's get real because we all know that when the price goes up it's the consumer that pays more for it. The business owner doesn't make less and the government definitely doesn't take less than the share that they want. Valid grape about what's going to be happening with the price of pot

I'll pay the working stiffs as little as possible, charge as much as possible for my product. Pocket as much cash as I can under the table. Keep it all to myself and not a chance on passing the gains onto the purchaser by lowering prices.

Does that work better for yah?

Glad to hear that's what you would do but a smart business owner would do pretty much everything you would do except for they would pass on some better prices to the customer to increase there clientele. I certainly wouldn't be paying somebody $20 an hour to run a cash register in this economy if they have no other skills. But I certainly would pass on some better savings to my customers .

Explain to us all then, why the vast majority of private guys with their underpaid cashiers are not charging below Gov't liquor store prices?
