:129: and just for the sake of this line of discussion, this quote could refer to God.
Just because you don't believe in God does not necessarily mean God does not exist.

That's certainly true and I'm thankful that I'm under no obligation to prove the null hypothesis.

Well, that is kinda boring... How about this, since we're discussing a quote I will give a more in-depth reply in the form of another quote:

"If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time."
- Bertrand Russell

Good one. Probably why I don't stand on any soapboxes and insist people believe as I do in like matters.

No, she isn't. I am. But I don't limit it just to Christians. I dislike all organized religions equally.

But, hey - I laughed at the little fun thing anyway. Is this the way your mama taught you tolerance??? Haahahahaa

Okay is has my curiosity up. So Hmm......... they both have engines, 4 wheels, drive train. So tell me what do you mean about
this part. "they just get you from point A to B in a slightly different manner" Now if you had used car vs. plane or plane vs. train........... etc etc than Okay. So John explain. :137:

Athiest. But not as a religion.

All religions are detrimental to the progress of mankind, they breed contempt, mistrust, greed, and shortsightedness as well as another degree seperation from our common man. (us and them/believers and non).

I was raised half jewish, half christian, both religions are stupid and false to the core. The old testament is historically incorrect in hundreds of ways.

And the Christian faith was simply re-engineered and hijacked by power hungry roman elites.(aside from the eastern orthodoxy)

None. As soon as you attach yourself to an ideology you're on a road. That road may or may not lead you in a good direction, but you'll stay on that road as long as you're attached to an idealogy. That's what every religion is! Sooner or later we've got to figure out that all this morality you've developed is good because it's good to treat other people good, not for any religion. It's the golden rule and there's a reason for that, and the reason is we're all attached in some strange way we don't totally understand, unless you are good to other people, treat other people the way you want to be treated.
