How much does religion affect wealth?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

How much does religion affect wealth?

Post by alexoliversen »

Taken from another thread that started to get off topic.

Thinktank wrote:New report from Oxfam states that 85 of the world's richest people own the wealth of half of the world’s population.

The global elite have rigged the rules so that "economic growth looks more like a winner-take-all system" that undermines democracy and threatens future generations with a "cascade of privilege and disadvantage," a new report from Oxfam states.

This seems to be a topic of another thread.

Now does wealth relate to religion? As I know poor people who are religious and I know rich people who are religious. It does not seem to be whether you are religious or not, it depends more upon your current standing and situation. Of course personal choices make a difference, but how much really? Sure you can work hard but there are other factors which affect wealth. As there are other considerations like economy, skills, relationships, and just plain luck.

I know a few towns where, if you want to be successful, you need to join a certain religious group. A friend opened a sign and stained glass shop a while back, in Revelstoke. He was told that he would not even get off the ground unless he joined the Alliance church.Being the devout atheist that he was, he came up with a clever scheme to circumvent this problem. He went to their church and noticed that their stained glass windows were in need of repair so he offered to fix them for free. After that his business soared.

So sometimes religion does affect wealth.
Trying to get spiritual nourishment from a two thousand year old book is like trying to suck milk from the breast of a woman who has been dead that long.

The Church will take as much of your wealth as they can get their hands on.

Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

You're unusually lightheaded for a guy hanging upside down.
