Why are Christians obsessed with sex?

Perhaps before we try to determine why Christians are obsessed with sex we should determine the grounds for believing that Christians ARE obsessed with sex any more than anyone else.

Does that make serial rapists good Christians ?? Are the 2% of Muslims who commit 70% of the rapes in Sweden also therefore good Muslims ?? Are the millions of persons who are not obsessed with sex therefore not good Christians or (insert identifying religion here) ??

It seems to me that something is sadly missing from the basic hypothesis identified in the caption.

Like most things - I think the title is too much of a generalization....it would be more accurate to assign certain groups within Christianity to the title. And I wouldn't say that it is correct to say that they are obsessed with sex, but rather - obsessed with trying to deny sexuality.

There most certainly are still many religious folks who have a much less liberal view on sex and sexuality.
That one must 'save yourself' for the sanctity of marriage.
That certain ( many ) sexual acts are obscene and unacceptable to any self righteous, respectable person.
That one must still abide with rules of modesty that were brought over with the puritans.
That god dictates such private matters as birth control, abortion, adultery, pornography and masturbation.

If you get your 42 virgins after you die, then you'd be less obsessed with sex, but Christians don't get sex in heaven, so they have to get in as much as they can while they're on earth, hence the obsession with sex.

It seems that Christians and others in Canada best become a bit MORE obsessed with sex because our death rate now exceeds our birth rate ... which is the reason that immigrants are needed to fill the shortage.

Most of the other "Christian" countries in Europe are having the same problem, including France, Germany and England.

Problem is, they're too busy sticking their noses in other people's business in the name of religious morality.
Religion has no place in the bedroom.
It is as natural as breathing, eating and sleeping.

It isn't that Christians don't have enough or have too much sex, completely missing the point. They preach that sex unless under the guidlines of the church is a sin. Something they are only too happy to impose or pass judgement. The recent attempt to defund Planned Parenthood in the US demonstrates a loss of perspective in this regard. IMO the Republicans should accept some of the blame for the unhinged man who recently went on a shooting rampage at a Planned Parenthood center.

Funny you'd list countries as Christian when they've made the top ten most athiest list. The decline in birth rates across the globe has far more to do with education and a loss of influence by the church.

Given the comments about people who believe that there is no proof of any god, having problems regarding their sex, I checked and found out that I still have proof of being a male. No change noted yet. How long does it usually take for the change to happen ??

Yes you are. Maybe read Fareed's article. He found that much of what was good about Christianity, such as being good to thy neighbour and the poor had been hijacked by those with an agenda that focused on thier version of sexual morality. Birth control, abortion, premarital and homosexual intercourse and judging those who do not prescribe to their christian beliefs. The bible for the most part is pretty vague in relation sexuality and Christians have had to use some creative interpretations to get to where they stand on the issue today .

The title just sounds like complete bigotry. Because it is. "Christians" are not obsessed with sex anymore than the rest of the population. If the issues were abortion, homosexuality etc., I did not get that from the postings and no I did not read the article, I thought the topic itself was controversial enough in and of itself to garner a response.

Just because most Christians believe in the sanctity of life, or of marriage between a man and a woman doesn't interpret to them being obsessed with sex. A fetus is not sexual. Doesn't equate.

Damn. I have been watching the Christians come out of their churches ever since I was told, away back on Sept 29,2015 that they were obsessed with sex. So far not one of them has openly displayed their obsession. I'm beginning to think someone might have lied to me.

Do you think that all of this obsession with sex might be going on inside the Church ?? Are the stained glass windows to stop people from looking inside when all of this sexual obsessing in the aisles is going on ?? >>>>
