Only five Orthodox churches in the entire Okanagan?
OK, so I am not even Christian. I just like icons, candles and incense and the cries of...
Χριστὸς ἀνέστη! Ἀληθῶς ἀνέστη!
Христóсъ воскрéсе! Воистину воскресе!
What a difference from GVRD though! This Easter I had a plethora of churches (even Cathedrals) to choose from for Easter service. In one nearby city THREE Romanian Orthodox churches (in a largely Catholic country of origin), Vancouver and Surrey has Ukrainian, Russian, Serbian, Ethiopian. You name it. There is even a congregation of converts in Langley.
Geez, Okanagan seems really 'white bread'. I am not complaining, my knees can't tolerate five hour services. And I feel silly taking a chair intended for the elderly.

The valley is mainly Protestants, pretty well covered by all the denominations.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD) (formerly GVRD) has over 2 million people - of course there will be more options. The Okanagan has approximately 350,000.

Thank you for the lead in Kelowna. Regarding Japanese events and practices I prefer the matsuri (pagan parades). I cross-dressed and danced around the bon fire in Hokkaido in mid-summer. Buddhism, like all religions is a fascinating subject, for me anyway. That Temple's Pure Land Buddhism (more of a 'real' religion) is not for me, though I am sure they have some interesting events. I am certainly not going to go on a jihad against it them for being 'heretics' to original Buddhism (Theravada). My own 'small mindedness' reminds me of the following joke at 7:35 in 'Old Jews Telling Jokes'...
