What Did Jesus Look Like?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

What Did Jesus Look Like?

Postby Ka-El » Mar 1st, 2018, 6:09 am

Not the first time scholars have made this suggestion ...

What Did Jesus Look Like?

... British scientists and Israeli archaeologists utilized forensic anthropology, similar to tactics used by police to solve crimes, to make a 3D model of his face, Popular Mechanics reported in January 2015. Their figure showed that Jesus had dark skin, hair and eyes, which did not come as a surprise to other religious scholars.

"The fact that he probably looked a great deal more like a darker-skinned Semite than westerners are used to seeing him pictured is a reminder of his universality," Episcopal studies expert Charles D. Hackett of the Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia told the magazine. "And [it is] a reminder of our tendency to sinfully appropriate him in the service of our cultural values."

We've gone thru this already...

There are many references in official Roman letters to Roman Emperors from their Governors in Judea and area regarding what Jesus physical features were.

Based on the fact that people are doing this work, it suggests that not everyone agrees on what you consider to be the truth.

The truth is that these were eye witnesses who had direct contact with Jesus and all described Jesus in the same way.

Jesus was from the Tribe of Judah and was an Israelite.

Actually Jesus spent some time in his youth in Cornwall England with his Great Uncle Joseph of Arimathea who was with Jewish Ruling Sanhedrin and was a leading Roman tin trader.

Many legends of a young Jesus and Joseph of Arimathea surround all of Cornwall England.

As a matter of fact Jesus had built the first above ground Church in Glastonbury England while living there and where Pilgrims came for a thousand years to witness it. It got to be so brittle it was in-cased in lead and is buried in the Glastonbury Abbey property.

King Arivagus gives Joseph of Arimathea 12 hides of land or about 1,200 acres as recorded in the Doomsday or Domesday book located in the British Library...This land that was given to Joseph's group is where the old Glastonbury Abbeys ruins are today.

Domesday is Britain's earliest public record. It contains the results of a huge survey of land and landholding commissioned by William I in 1085. Domesday is by the far the most complete record of pre-industrial society to survive anywhere in the world and provides a unique window on the medieval world.

The Arabs didn't invade the area until the year 636, so he would not have looked Arab. Definitely not western European either, but probably Greek or Turkish in complexion. The oldest surviving "picture" of Jesus comes from the 600s in Egypt. Here's that picture... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... _sinay.jpg

Why don't you use actual eye witnesses that describe Jesus?

Jesus was From the Tribe of Judah and an Israelite.

Well, given the times, he probably had long unkempt hair, lots of facial hair, stank to high heavens because personal hygiene didn't exist, had parasites, and suffered from a number of diseases.

Why not? The stain glass windows in St. John's Church in Glastonbury English show Joseph of Arimathea (Jesus's Great Uncle and Mary's Uncle), Mary, Mary Magdelane, Simon the Zealot and others from Joseph's group landing in England after the Crucifixion of Jesus showing them all looking to be Western European. These are some of Jesus's relations.

Also all the Royal families of Europe are of the Royal Israelite Tribe of Judah and all the Royal families are European. Please see thread with all the Royal Heraldry with the Royal Lion of Judah in every Royal family Coat of Arms of Europe.

No credible archeologists believes any of that. I'm pretty opened minded about alternative theories, but it just doens't seem credible to me. DNA testing shows that the whitest people were in Northern Europe. There's no way to know for sure what Jesus looked like, but I think it's pretty safe to say that western and northern Europeans are not the lost tribes of Israel.
