Manitoba/Saskatchewan and Climate Change Opinions

Post by Glacier »

It is interesting the Man/Sask are the least likely to believe that the climate has warmed, but the most likely to want the government to take action on climate change.

Well, that was certainly a biased survey, eh?

Interesting to look at the results, regardless of the bias.

Manitoba and Saskatchewan may show higher desire to do something about climate change because of a strong agricultural base, which could be threatened by climatic change.

Not surprising that Alberta is weak in terms of beliefs and concerns over climate change.

I am pleased that most Canadians in this poll are lukewarm at best about "cap and trade". Far too subject to corruption, as any existing "carbon markets" have shown us. The only thing that works is carbon taxes.

Grammafreddy, did no you notice that asked whether or not the temperature had warmed over the past 40 years, not whether or not humans had any role in any such warming?

Hobbyguy, it is interesting that Alberta is the most in favour of cap and trade.

Or maybe, just maybe, people on the Prairies aren't as susceptible to fraud and BS, and so therefore can see from many miles away just how corrupt and bogus the entire "man-made" climate change movement is. They also are unique from the doom-sayers and Armageddon People in that they actually want to see some sort of proof that man-made climate change exists, something no one anywhere, at any time, has ever done. To me it is not surprising at all that the Prairies haven't fallen for the man-made climate change myth, as why should anyone fall for something that right now is just an unproven scientific hypothesis.

The only thing that works is carbon taxes.

Works in what way? To rob people of their hard-earned money all to support a complete bogus myth? To rob school boards of millions of dollars that they could be using to educate children and hire teachers and support staffs? Seriously, carbon taxes are disgusting, but I will agree that they are not quite as disgusting as cap and trade.

LV - your needle is skipping.

The majority of folks in Alberta do understand climate change. And they do accept that there is a man made component to that.

That's why Alberta is the only other jurisdiction in North America, besides BC, that has a carbon tax.
