Tenfolio?

Postby French Castanut » Oct 29th, 2012, 4:11 pm

There's an ad on top of Castanet's page called Tenfolio. What is that exactly?

They talk about a growing visual art community but there's nothing on google or facebook and they want our name & email to get in touch with us.

http://tenfolio.com/okanagan/?utm_sourc ... anagan-lp#

I found out their Website is registered with Artistech Newmedia Inc, a Website creating company but that's about it.

Anyone knows what this company exactly is?

It's the stuff that Cornholio uses for baking potatoes.

After looking at the name, and the website, it looks like a big portfolio page that helps distribute an artist's work around. Tenfolio - ten pieces of work for a portfolio. From just their front page they tell you that you submit your best work, they will distribute it to local newspapers, blogs, etc. to provide you coverage.

Looks simple.

Do they pay you for it?

No idea GF, I just summarized the information they made available for everyone on their website. You'd need to e-mail them for more information.

I'm working with Artistech on the Tenfolio project. It has been correctly summarized here - the goal is to allow visual artists to submit their best work, which Tenfolio then distributes to partner websites. Right now those partner websites are just local, but the grand plan is to develop relationships with hyperlocal portals (like Castanet) across Canada, and then beyond. First we want to prove the concept here.

sooo...local artists send you their best work....and it is distributed with no compensation whatsoever for them?

In the immediate future the trade-off is exposure, which has considerable value. Down the road we have other avenues and ideas to help the artists generate revenue.

Are artists lacking exposure in today's digital age?
