Family Day B.C.

Postby Whyme2 » Feb 3rd, 2013, 11:22 am

Next weekend is B.C. First family day. I'm curious as to how many of us our actually going to benefit from having this new holiday?

Going to see my family in Vancouver.

I guess I'll benefit.

Monday, February 11th is the first family day recognized in BC as a statutory holiday. Know your rights.

It's a Provincial holiday. Not Federal.

While many British Columbians are getting an extra day off for the new Family Day statutory holiday on Feb. 11, for thousands of federal employees and for those at B.C.’s largest private-sector employer, Telus, it’s just another day on the job.

Most of the other provinces have had family day for years. Campbell refused to give it to BC, but thank you Christy Clark for finally moving with the rest of Canada.

To the OP, if you can't figure out a way to enjoy a day off that is unfortunate. I for one will celebrate it.

Where did it say in my OP that I couldn't enjoy a day off? .....I don't get the day off myself and was just wondering if there are many who do benefit from this new holiday. Maybe while your celebrating your day off you can take some reading courses.

It balances out over the year for federal employees as they get Boxing Day as a stat and the rest of us don't.
