If the attackers were Muslim extremists the justice would likely have started in 10 minutes, not unlike what just happened in London. I fail to understand the slow RCMP response to the incident at the Grand, when the station is literally a block away and why there is such disparity in what equals a very deadly event.

They deserve a trial, even though they are total trash, completely undeserving of clemency and should be kept from normal, well-adjusted people.

In fact, I'd even say if our country dealt with MC's as vigilantly as home-grown or imported terrorism, this horse crap would have been over years ago.

Maybe this will clarify:
• E-Comm’s 9-1-1 dispatchers are highly trained, dedicated professionals who will get us the help we need.
• Calls from the Central Okanagan are initially answered by an operator at E-Comm, then as quickly as possible down streamed to the appropriate:

Regional Fire Dispatch Centre (Kelowna)
BC Ambulance Service Dispatch in Kamloops
RCMP located within the Southeast District RCMP Operational Communications Centre in Kelowna

It's not so cut and dry, Fancy...

E-Comm protocols have little to do with it insomuch as dispatch debrief and a good ol' SitRep

RCMP safety is number one. Period. They have to know what they're getting into before they get into it.

The RCMP doesn't suddenly get a call of mass shootings and drive directly toward or into the gunfire, like in the movies...

It's calculated, an with intent to minimize any and all loss while not increasing danger to the public -- sometimes that takes a bit of time.

Quite sure they know every trick to pull
besides, given the fact that so many hate the gangsters here..
how much time should someone get for taking care of someone so many loathe?
Just call me Judge Dredd... don;t care what they get for time, figure someone already has marked them

What's wrong with hating gangsters? They COST taxpayers millions while contributing little.
And did they ever play for time.
Just hoping that like another HA crime, the time would run out for a fair hearing.
Nope.

Let's face it, if the charges were dropped because of the delay, these guys would probably be tracked down and killed in short order. As it is, they'll probably be safer in prison, at least for a while. Either way, they'll be looking over their shoulders forever.

You know, stories like this make me very nervous...
https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#198825
They publicly name the witnesses trying to id the bad guys. If I was that witness, now I would be worried the gang associates are going to come for me. No wonder so many people prefer not to get involved
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

Saw the guy on trials motorcade yesterday.
How ridiculous and what a waste of resources and money.
Was a six vehicle motorcade with lights and sirens going through downtown.
Looked like one was the swat truck filled with them.
Could they not just keep the guy in Kelowna during the trial, so stupid.
I am sure the guy feels important with that type of treatment.
Would the PM even have a convoy that size?

well considering these guys had no fear planning and executing a daylight, in a very busy area, in downtown Kelowna, by the cop shop, assassination...the fear of retaliation (which I assume the Gang Enforcement Squad has more info about than the average person) might be real...

(will agree though that the lights and sirens were a bit much)

The fear is real, that's apparent by the motorcade.
Seems unnecessary considering there are cells here.
They were even squelching the horn along with the sirens, thought it was an impromptu parade past the sails at first.

"Additionally, DNA from Bacon and James Riach, the lone person in the targeted SUV who escaped injury, were found on several shell casings littered around the Delta Grand Hotel following the shooting.

DNA would be transferred to a shell casing when a bullet is loaded into the gun."

Uhhh...what? They loaded the rounds that were used to kill themselves? I'm confused....

I re-read that. A few times. A targeted hit but not in the way it first appeared?

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that one out. I hope they clear that up soon.

Unless the reporter wasn't too clear about it. Might have been speaking about casings from return fire from their car.

Interesting though.
