Just saying that the mountaian bikers will choose a trail made by moto bikes. Put up signs saying no motos. Then continue to build\dig\make a huge mess using boards and garbage and nails to make a 'downhill trail' . Then they have the guts to sour face everydirtbiker around. You also have to use the existing roads to PUSH your 5 thousand dollar bikes to the top of the Dirt bike trail. Instead of the sour face,be a man and say thank you.

100% agree with that. They were built buy motorized veichles and should stay for them, not block them off cause a peddle biker wants it to him self

OK Logman and Dayton. Chances are some of the singletrack we use up there came to be from motos. So thank you for that. There is also a goodly chunk of trail that is too tight and twisty for motos, as well I've been told that the trail down is only between 5 - 10 years old and was cut by mtn bikers.

It is a multi use area and the reason why bikers maybe get a little sour when motos use the singletrack is that it takes a lot of work to make the trail rideable for mtn bikes and a moto with a careless rider can trash a section of trail in a second. Additionally, there is at least one trail day a year when a group of users get together and hike up the trail and fix damaged areas and ensure all the stunts are secure enough for another season of riding.

There is singletrack all the way up Logman, so majority of riders get the benefit of a kicka$$ cardio workout riding to the top before heading down. Smith Creek is too inconvienent to shuttle or walk up. Most of those riders shuttle Powers Creek.

I understand your point on why should access be restricted, again, it is a multi use area. Heres a mtn bikers point of view, there is about 20 - 25k of trail that mtn bikers stick to in that area while the motos have easy access to many times more so why not let us use the little bit we have built up. We were talking to one moto rider this summer by the Bible Camp as we both prepped for a ride and his comment was he avoids the bike track since its to tight and narrow. So if its no fun for you to ride and I'm stupid enough to spend 5g on a bike (did you know that a mtn bike magazine got together with a dirtbike one and anlyzed the materials and technology on a mtn bike and determined if that was used on a dirtbike it would cost about 30g)and love riding those trails lets both continue to enjoy it.

So, after Tommy Lewis went and blocked it off, people have been going in anywhere they want, basically making new entrances up there. Seems it would have been a lot more environmentally friendly to just leave everything the way it was.

Just so we all get this straight:
-You realize you are trespassing on private property and even know the property owners name.
-You clearly see that the owner does not want you on his property by his signs and attempts to block your access.
Yet the best that you can come up with to justify your, and others, trespassing and damaging of private property is that the new damage you have recently caused is far more harmful to the environment than the previous damage your illegal entry to this piece of private property already caused?

Or here's a novel idea... how about if you just stay the "F" off of private property when you don't have the owners consent to be there!!

the old guy who lives at the end of smith creek rd is the one who drops the trees across trail litters pallets with nails in them on the trails. he doesn't like people wheeling in there as they usually end up by his property.

That is not true. Tom Lewis is a nice man. Long time Westbanker. As far as I know he dosen't own the property that the mountain bikers have trashed,and built so called ramps and left crap everywhere.

I absolutely avoid the mountain bikers side of the tresspass. I want nothing to do with the garbage,excavation,ramps,nails,lumber,and all around ignorance. Fluff it up all you wan't with your "feel the love trail" How about" feel the trash" trail?

Nice attempt at deflection Log. We've moved onto dealing with the notion that 4x4'ers feel they are somehow entitled to rip open a new entrance when it's obvious they don't want you trespassing. I was up there on the weekend and sure enough, new trail ripped in, followed by the tell tale trail of beer cans on the dirt road going up to the power lines.

Is it even possible for you and your drunkin buddies to find your way back without leaving trash behind like trail of breadcrumbs?

Maybe if you and your cohorts demonstrated one shred of decency in your treatment of nature you'd have a leg to stand on, but since you can't seem to leave the garbage at home or take it with you when you go, you will continue to be treated like the scourge you are.

I don't litter up there so I'm gunna keep wheelin it, I find new cool things every day up there that makes me love this town more and more. There is beauty in this area and I'm gunna keep finding it even if jerks block it off! I know there's some bad wheelers out there that don't Care for the land like others but that's not gunna stop me, I'm not looking for mud to rip up or trees to drive over, I'm just lookin for nice views, cool things from the past and new things happening.I enjoy it, I don't try to destroy it so I'm gunna keep using it

since when did a power line trail become private property??? all power line access roads belong to the crown.. hence is for all citizens to use.. mainly for the power company's but because it is crown land anyone can access it... as for littering on the trails i see more people walking and riding bikes dropping garbage behind there *bleep* then i do 4x4'ers. the fact of the matter is the area up smith creek in question does not belong to Mr Tommy Lewis. his land is way around the corner at the end of the road the area in question is the field area that many people have brought there children to for years to teach them how to ride dirt bikes. it is crown land and is supposed to be for all the citizens to use.
