Gun/Ammo/Hunting stores

Post by MGM inc »

Having some trouble finding inexpensive ammo for an SKS Riffle. Would like to try Vernon. Can anyone tell me any good store's for this kind of ammo?

Thanks...MGM

We bought our SKS ammo at Grouse River Outfitters in Kelowna. If you can't find it in town, you could go there.

ETA: It was $250 for 800 rounds.

Del Selin's for sure!

Pretty sure Grouse River is more expensive.

A lot of people in Vernon get their ammo at Wholesale Sports in Kamloops. Not sure if they are cheaper than Del Selin's for SKS ammo, but everywhere I've looked sells the stuff dirt cheap, including online sellers.

The cheapest I've ever found was $110 for 500 rounds.

But horrible delivery and customer service.

well I called Del Selin Gunsmith Ltd
and $400 for 1500 rounds of non corrosive ammo, and $250 for 770 rounds of corrosive ammo,
grouse river is corrosive for $210 for 800 when i was in there last (September)
So I think I will go with GR as i did some math, and GR is cheaper... At first it doesn't seem like it, but GR is.
Whole sale is $200 for 800. so $10 cheaper but time i get out there and back, it would have been cheaper to stay in Kelowna.
thanks for all the answers,

also, GR doesn't have hunting rounds, (soft point) Del Selin does. so I will still have to go to Del for that part anyway.
I am coming from Westbank so got to add the gas in there as well.

You'll get the best service at Grouse River of any of the shops. They are also huge supporters of local fish & game clubs, so they should be at the top of people's go-to list, as they put so much back into conservation and education.

Two thumbs up for Glenn and his staff. :smt023

Good to know MGM, we haven't bought for a while (yay bulk purchasing and adequate storage space!) so it sounds like Grouse River is better priced now. I know we'd done the math when we made our purchase and Del Selin's was cheaper at that time.

Have fun shooting!

Talk to Grant at Robertsons in Kelowna. You won't find better service anywhere!
