Inexpensive golf
What courses in town have the cheapest fees?
Just looking to go out and "practice" on 9 holes once in a while. Don't golf much and haven't been for a while, so I don't need anything fancy. I also don't want to look like too big of a fool in front of super awesome aristocrats :-p

Probably Aspen Grove at Winfield. $16 for 9 holes. Great restaurant too.

Michaelbrook Ranch is inexpensive as well, about the same for 9.

Hit a range first fvkasm2x. Try a 3/4 swing with full hip rotation starting at the end of your backswing before going to your downswing. Keep your eye on the ball. And don't think about trying to 'scoop' the ball up but rather come down on it - at moment of impact. Have fun!

I think Michaelbrook and Mission Creek are both around $25 for 9 holes. Orchard Green is another inexpensive course though the greens are narrow so it can be dangerous - lots of guys with wild swings whose balls end up a green or two over from where they should be. Aspen Grove is definitely the best bang for your buck.

If you feel like making a day trip out of an inexpensive round of golf, go to Grindrod or Rock Creek. Of course staying here is cheaper, but at least you've tried it elsewhere where no one will recognize you on the 10th hole.

You can get a punch card for 10 rounds of 9 holes for $205 at Michaelbrook. For $20 ea that is a much nicer course than Aspen grove in Winfield.

Best deal in BC is Pinnacle at Gallaghers Canyon. You need a foursome, but then its only $17 each for 9 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Beautiful course, also best views in the valley.
Might want to practice upa bit first though... ;)

Try frisbee golf. The courses are usually free.

I golf this course often, and I agree it's a a nice place to play. No cart required, although they are available if you need one. Not overly challenging, but just enough to be fun.

The Lumby golf course is something like $5. Sand greens though. Wife's grandparents offer free golf at their ranch, but you're looking at a 7 hour drive to get there.

The Pinnacle is my favorite 9 hole course in Kelowna, and the cheap days on Tuesday and Wednesdays make it even more enjoyable. The grounds are always maintained above average compared to other 9 hole courses. Rock Creek, St Andrews, Sage Mesa, Pinnacle are all 9 hole courses in the Valley that I frequent alot because of value for what you pay.
