I have found that with people I have delt with during the mushroom season , most are in fact quite secretive with regards to where and when they pick. This applies to all saleable mushrooms. In all honesty there is more location information with regards to the majic variety than there is to the wild sell eat variety.
I picked for many years and in all that time only a handfull were willing to share their knowledge and specialty to me. This was done with a promise to not make anything I learned public information as this is what causes conflict among the pickers..
It really is a trust building exercise that takes time and then comes learned experience.
Of course one can aquire some books and then proceed from there. Only specific location is really secret but it does require some basic skill to make a pick worthwhile.
Remember safety first , if one is not sure, DO NOT EAT or SHARE. dry and research. It only takes one fatality to spoil your day.
