The woods are pretty much dirty also.

I've taken a pair of labs to the off leash dog park and they loved it. So I guess it depends on you and your dog.

It's the one at Westbank Centre Park. With the large and small dog sections. No "NO TRESPASSING" sign that I've ever seen.

I often walk my dogs in RV park. Recently a woman with her dog off leash yells down the hill at me that her dog is aggressive and to be cautious. My dogs are friendly but all too often people take out of control dogs to off leash areas to burn off energy. A close friend of mine also had her dog attacked by coyotes a few years back on the Rose Valley trails. My advise is to let your pups off leash in a dog park but keep them on leash in the woods, it's much safer.

Really? Dogs need to be leashed in RV? I've often come across people walking their dogs up there and I can not recall ever seeing a dog on a leash except once, that was a young, energetic dobby that the lady said it frightened people although it was very playful but with it being a doberman people assumed the worst.

I do have a request for people walking their dogs up there: if you are not picking up your dogs waste, please at least, grab a stick and flick the solid waste into the bush instead of leaving it in the middle of the trail.

With the resevoir supplying drinking water to the community, I don't know that being concerned about dog waste impacting the water quality is such an issue. Vast majority of dog walkers are on the upper trails, well away from the water.

My dog is offleash just about everywhere.
I'm in control of her because I'm a good trainer.
She listens and is loyal to me.

If you folks think for one second that I'm gonna have her on leash when there are no others around...then I'm sorry to let you down, but <trip>...since your down there...um...

When people happen along where I go with my pooch, I put her on a leash. As soon as we've got separation between us, she's off leash again.

I'm not too concerned (deepest apologies) if my pooch takes a leak on the bank that drains into the reservoir at Rose Valley. I don't let her drop bombs anywhere close to trails or anywhere close to water.

As far as the legalities...again...so sorry to let you all down...but your rules and my breaking them are an integral part of who I am.
I have my limits. I don't do anything to harm others and overall I am a good person that is responsible with, for and toward my pet(s).
That's all I intend to offer.

It'll be pretty quiet I know because you couch potato whiners don't venture there.
Those I meet along the way...love to see others out enjoying this fine weather and area...and they always pat my pooch.

Yes, strangely enough, the rules apply to you too! When I take my two little SPCA rescue dogs for a walk in the park and some arrogant SOB lets his "friendly" dog run up to mine, he assumes that since his dogs are friendly and mine are little miniature dachshunds that it's OK! Lemme tell you, it's not! My dogs were very abused and may bite your off-leashed dog! Then what? Your dog eats mine and it's OK? Why can't you just put your dog on a leash or find somewhere else to walk him? There are plenty of places on crown land for you to walk your dog without a leash, please leave the designated parks to those of us who just want to take a peaceful walk with our dogs. We all love our dogs and you are not special.

One of my pet peeves... people who go to on-leash parks and let their dogs run off-leash, and seem to expect that everyone else using the park should be tolerant of, and amused or entertained by, the offending dog's antics. Rotary Beach in West Kelowna is the best example because there is an off-leash park within spitting distance of the on-leach park.The lack of courtesy and downright ignorance of people who let their dogs run loose.. into the water .. out of the water, shaking the water off themselves [as dogs will do] onto people who are otherwise enjoying the park!!! I can't think of people who could be worse ambassadors for pet owners than these imbeciles.
