Suspicious Behavior In The Foothills ??

Post by TroyB »

I heard this "story" and am looking for someone to lend some credibility to it.

I was told "someone" in a car rolled up some a child or a group of children in the foothills and made an offer of candy or the like. Offer was declined.

This seems to be all over facebook, but although I take my child's safety seriously I need a bit better source than that. Anyone know anything a little more first hand?

People are so nice in Vernon.
Sarcasm is like a good game of chess. Most people don't know how to play chess.

If you are really concerned for your kids, you could always verify the authenticity by calling the non emergency police line. Vernon RCMP
Police - non emergency - 545-7171.

Vernon RCMP are following up on a report of an attempt to lure and 11-year-old boy into a vehicle.

According to the boy he was with friends on Blackcomb Way off Silver Star Road Saturday when he was approached by two people in a van.

The victim told police he was walking home from the park with several friends when a man and woman, both believed to be in their 40's attempted to lure him into their van by saying they had candy.

"The victim did not cooperate and left," says RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk.

"He believes it was a Toyota mini-van white in colour. No plate was obtained."
