City to put bus stop in front of my house?

Good post, yeah I see the mess and noise coming too, it's already bad just with having junk food stores nearby.

If you have junk food stores nearby you already have the garbage. I used to live on KLO with a bus stop right there and junk food stores right there. Then they put more high schools in the area too.

Good luck getting anywhere with the regional transit authority. In the spring they put a bus route down our residential street with no input from any of the residents. After numerous e-mails to the powers that be I was informed that the transit authority neither requires input from the residents or is required to inform us of what they are doing. I am not against public transit but there are more than forty buses passing my house daily and over ninety percent of the time there is not a single person on the bus. Now thats a waste of fuel and money and they do not care.

So it's not just a bus stop issue rather a people issue.....Bus stop in front of my place is clean.

First of all if you were there first there is usually a right of way clause that applies.
Go to the city planning department with a list of written questions and seek answers
not run around statements. There is right of way or what are they prepared to do to
satisfy your parking concerns? Perhaps they will locate a bus stop and allow the drive
way to continue as before. It could also be suggested they make the bus stop in front
of commercial businesses rather than your residence.
I would also ask for an audience with the Mayor, he is very familiar with transit as I
understand he is on or was on the transit board.

I won, no bus stop, also I refused the smart meter and won that too!
The people can win if they are willing to standand fight for what's right.

Kelowna doesn't have smart meters yet.

Maybe not, but they did have to go back to their office for a different meter after I said no smart meter here.
So it may well have been a smart meter they just don't have the system up and running in Kelowna yet.
