A downed tree north of Penticton along hwy 97. Power out to Sland, Pen and Kaledan. Crews are working on restoring.
Castanet, you've been told this and should've posted something. Terrible reporting.

Yeah right, considering the majority of their story is from Twitter, the least they could have done was post a red story line at the top like they initially did!

Re: Power outage in Penticton
From what I understand the downed tree has affected the power supply to Summerland, it was still out there when I left half an hour ago. Power was out locally for about fifteen minutes, don't know how widespread that was of if it was connected to the tree incident. We discussed this once before, Penticton gets it power from two sources, the line that comes in from the west over the reserve to the substation behind Home Hardware, and a line that comes up from the south to a substation up Carmi. Pretty rare that the whole city goes out.

Yup still out in Summerland. I do find it weird the light by Timmy's was still working but not much else earlier!
Fortis says it should be back "shortly after 3pm".
