This thread will be reopened after it has been cleaned up. If there are too many nonsense-posts, then it will just get retired.

While taking down that information from you the member was probably gauging your level of cooperation to determine if they needed to take it one step further to actually come into you house and have a look around. We usually don't like to do that unless it is warranted.

By this time , the Boss (childrens mother) was home and Cosnt. Mc (nevermind the rest) was welcomed into the home and offered a snack for the remainder of her night shift..

OUR level of co operation was at its highest level as could be expected..

Yet still the questions,,EVEN after the professional "cross banter" the Boss and Const. M enjoyed..

It's just one of those things that make me wonder...WHY ??

Thats all..

theyeti wrote:police enjoy putting ppl on the spot .. thats how they set u up for a beat down .. ask u confusing unrelated questions and hope u trip .

once u do they attack with the full force of the law behind them.

it has happened to me lots !

so scary every time i see a cop i head in the other direction to try and avoid any trouble .. its no fun fighting with em they hunt in packs carry guns and love to pepper spray and use the batons .. all for nothing more than disagreeing with what they think

You appear to be a very easy target... LOL. Being put on the spot won't matter if you are not doing anything wrong. If you are hiding what you've done, yes they will pick it up and pull you apart. You would be a fun one!! LOL

MAPearce wrote:So, perhaps you can answer this KL , or Trunk ,or bike guy..

When following up on an abandoned 911 call supposedly from my cell number (which has a keypad lock) that was recieved in Armstrong BC (the constable called from that detachment to see if I was ok) , did it take 3 hours and a call from me to the Kelowna detachment asking if they were coming to physically verify my well being ,as informed by the Armstong member was a requirement, to actualy SHOW UP ???

I called to ask if it was ok to shut the house down and go to sleep two hours after the I was told some one from my area needed to verify I was ok and was told I could go to bed BUT one hour after that , a member showed up... No big deal..

But what IS a big deal is WHY did that member , whowas supposed to be checking to see if I was alright , grilled me on the names and birthdates of my kids...

WHY do you need to know that ? the only reason the attending member knew I had kids in the house was because when I called to to ask to go to bed , I told them that " the kids are in bed already , I work early and I need to get to sleep"...

I just gotta wonder why , when it's MY well being the RCMP are concerned about , would they show up 3 hours after the fact and grill me about how old my kids are ? Specially since the only reason they knew about the kids in the first place was because I called back after waiting 2 hours to see if we could all go to bed .

Perhaps , if I give you my cell number , you could cross reference it to find out why ?

Just wondering

Mike.

honestly mapearce
you must have dozens and dozens of personel bad cop storys to tell and have told on these forums, how much bad luck can one person have...... I call bs ,you are a cop hater end of story

I have to say unless you witnessed this so called abuse of power by police, many times the stories are much more grand when their is a audience!! :dyinglaughing: :dyinglaughing:

You need to find friends who don't have conflict with people of authority....it's that simple!!

The answer would be because its their job to ask those questions. They don't know you so they need to confirm everything is OK. If you had answered the door and said everything was OK and then they left, I get the feeling you would have been posting a question asking why they didn't come in and ask you a few questions to make sure it wasn't a legit call. Just a guess on my part though.

It is indeed a guess goatboy..And not a very good one .

go back and read that , by the time the const got to OUR door , the childrens MOTHER was home..Turns out they BOTH sort of new each other in a PROFESSIONAL capacity AND the officer was WELCOMED into OUR home and OFFERED cookies...

There was OBVIOUSLY NO attempt to HIDE anything and OUR response to the officers arrival wasd SURPRISING considering , WE were informed that we could go to bed BUT we did indeed CO OPERATE with the officer when she showed up at OUR door...

But still the REQUEST of the sleeping childrens names and birthdates...Which was GRANTED WITHOUT HESITATION...

You "flag wavers " have taken a simple question form TWO members of the public of the RCMP that were answered in good faith by a MEMBER of the RCMP and turned it into a cop bash....

Thanks KL for your answer..Don't let the drivel from the pro crowd make you think I'm ( or the wife) not GRATEFUL for your honest attempt to answer a question that only I had the nerve to ask

So let me ask you this...what was the problem providing the info they asked? If there was no problem then whats the deal now? Seems to me you could use the energy you have used here on this forum asking why...for much greater purposes. Just sayin...
For anyone in this forum to answer the WHY question....including myself....is impossible as there is a a ton of unknowns. To start with what did the attending officer know or what did he or she get told or provided when the call from dispatch was rec'd? All factors no one, including yourself do not know....
I am all for people asking WHY but seriously...in this case who cares....why ask why when it really doesnt matter.

Because I feel AND so does the mothers children , that the cops have no right to be welcomed into OUR home and ask questions about OUR children...

They have , or had NOTHING to do with the cops being there in the first place..PERIOD..

I , we had nothing to hide , but WHY do YOU need to know Trunk ???

Let me ask again ..

WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ??

Thanks KL3.. Your response was at least genuine..

Here are the things I'm not telling Junk Monkey....The reason it took 3 hours for the response was , when I called to ask IF there would be a member responding to the dropped call, there was an apparent "lapse" in the RCMP system that failed to communicate that an officer was required to attend my address that was volunteered by myself..

Yeah , thats right , when I called the Kelowna detachment to request permission to go to bed , they had no knowledge of the call in the first place...That was TWO hours after the call I got from the Armstrong member...I was given permission to "shut the house down" and was assured that all was well..

BUT an hour after tht ,const Mc. shows up , talks to the wife and asks that question..No big deal. SHE was nice and was graciously offer a "Constable Care Package" cxonsisting of home baked cookies and a 250 ml carton of milk for her service...

Oh wait..thats why you chide me..YOU didn't get that offer..

See Junk , it goes both ways huh ?When I do something nice for the cops, no one notices...When I ask a question of them or critisize them EVERY one notices..

Two way street huh Junk Monkey ?? Funny how you guys can complain and expect sympathy but when the shoes on the other foot ???

And Trunk ..The Boss just spat on you...You know why right ?

If not , go back and read ...It's not just my "question"

I thought you said your question wasn't a cop bashing one. Seems to me any member that will ever have contact with you will always do something wrong in your opinion.
Did the officer know that it wasn't one of the children that called 911?

uh ...YEAH..There was no record on my phone of an out going call at the time the dropped call was recieved.. Even checked with Telus and no call was made from my phone number for 3 hours before the dropped call..

They did get the in cming call from the Armstong member though..And my call to the Kelowna detachment...

AND my phone is key pad locked. The kids don't know my un lock code..
