Did students get out school to attend a Warriors game?

My children went and yes they were out of school for a few hours. They had a great time, consider it a field trip, not a big deal really.

A hockey game is not a field trip. What did they learn?

Did it affect you or your children? People will complain about everything won't they.

Skating rinks and pools are also considered field trips. I don't see the difference.

Good Grief: the kids got some physical exercise; and they talked face to face while they walked; and they yelled and cheered for a team which is not much part of lifestyles anymore; and they actually saw physical activity which may rub off on a few of them; and they larned about fair play; and they learned about skill levels of individuals; and they learned about sitting in a group all wanting the same outcome; and they sang O Canada together; Good Grief these are lessons.

The children could go in the evening when the Warriors play regularly. This game was aimed at school children during school education time.

Your supporting a business. Skating rinks and pools are very good field trips where they learn certain skills that they will use. Going to a hockey game just to fill seats and promote a business is wrong.

What difference does a live feed make if they can attend in person?

In my school days we watched the canadian womens team play. It was an awesome break in our day - we got to socialize and have fun. It was a couple hours out of our day. 1 day. You only live once, why should we keep our children from experiencing such things?

You asked what games Fancy was talking about - I'm giving you an example.

Again, we only live once. Why not give these children an oppurtunity to cheer on LOCAL hero's who may not otherwise have a chance to ATTEND a Warrior's game. Let's not forget there are more than a few - less fortunate families out there who may not see a warrior's game a neccessity or appropriate way to spend their hard earned dollars when they're already having a difficult enough time putting food on the table.

It's about equal oppurtunity. Commradary.

Believe it or not - schools budget out days for 'out of school' activities or field trips. A number of classes head to the pool for a 'fun swims' - nothing more, nothing less. Just fun. Because children still deserve a chance to have fun.
