I don't think they employ the police to enforce bylaws, but I can't think of what a bylaw officer would do if requested to deal with it.

Of course, in this particular case. But if you did not know it was a bylaw issue, there is nothing wrong with calling the non-emerg RCMP number with your question. Presumably, they would tell you to call the bylaw office.

What's the difference between rummaging through bins at the end of your driveway versus doing it at the recycling depot / landfill?

You only assume it's "safe" once it gets in the truck, but how do you know for sure?

It's reasonably safe as there is no scavenging allowed at the dump but I still shred anything with my info on it.

We just did a dump run, and a barrier was put around the metal section at the dump, I guess "no scavaging" wasn't getting through to some.

You can't even take a plank out of the wood pile or they throw a fit. Or a nice new board of plywood.

Is it time to have a private enterpise collect wood and sell it to the public, rather than have it shredded for Ogogrow?

That may be so at the dump, but are you 100% sure? What if someone sneaks in after hours? And still, what about the recycling depot? Ever stop to think how it all gets sorted and separated?

The point being made here is: what makes "your" trash so valuable at the end of your driveway that it needs to be guarded?

Theres no scavenging allowed roadside either, according to the bylaw.

Know a guy who drives one of those roll off trucks you should see the neat stuff he has in his yard, free for the taking.
Great that he saved it from the landfill.

Well, some of us have moved up here from places downtown. There is a reason for that. We moved here after a guy in our building lit his apartment on fire while cooking meth on the stove. He was a "poor person" too.

It's not like this is a high-end part of town, but it is not the inner city either. It's a blue collar, working persons, quiet neighborhood. That's why we bought our home here.

Again, I am not the only person who is not comfortable with this guy.

Some of us can't figured out why you worry so much about your trash. The trash you willingly threw away because you did not want it anymore .

There's a big difference between "fearful" and "uncomfortable". I would think "creepy" would be self-explanatory.
