Kijiji has been hijacked by Realtors

Post by MaryG »

Has anyone else noticed what is happening on Kijiji? Ad after ad for houses obliterating all other ads....why are they on there? Don't they have MLS? We're looking for 20 dollar deals, not 1.2 million dollar houses on that site. Realtors are already on the precipice when it comes to public approval....this isn't helping them.

Are you looking for a more sophisticated response than "To sell houses"?

We're looking for 20 dollar deals, not 1.2 million dollar houses on that site.

Exit the "Real Estate" section.
Click on "Cheap stuff for sale" section.
Mission accomplished.

I actually enjoy looking at the ads as they are placed chronologically; at everything (excluding 300 successive realty ads)...no particular category.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Most unhelpful.

Oh, I see how this is realtor`s fault.

So, it's a product, it is for sale, and kijiji is a site that has products for sale. And you don't believe that people who sell products should be able to have them on there?!?!?! :dyinglaughing:

If you go to the bottom on the left (the yellow part) you can click on "by owner", it will allow ads for sale by owner and not by realtor.

Thanks for the advice, but I continue to feel that the realtors have a site - MLS - to advertise their homes. It is my understanding that even furniture stores are limited to a certain number of ads, so perhaps realtors should be as well.

I guess you wouldn't understand my frustration unless you are like myself and many other faithful Kijiji readers - we don't want to see all of that day's MLS listings, we don't want to see other categories of ads swamped by house listings, we don't want our own items up for sale to be grazed over and skipped because of user fatigue at house listings.

That is all.

So what you want is an Internet site where things are for sale......except houses? :137:

I don't want to see dealers advertising cars on craigslist

and I don't want realtors on kijiji.

those websites are for owners to sell their stuff. but if scammers can advertise
on those sites, then realtors should be able to.

It would be nice if the site was for private sales only.
If I want a house or a car from a business I know where to look. They all have their web sites all ready.

Actually, what would be nice is a site that had only what I wanted and nothing else.

Oh wait, that's what the filters on the searches are for! :138:

Well, I only want intelligent conversations on Castanet between users whose IQ is at least in double digits.

Instead, we have people coming in here complaining about house ads and realtors taking over a free classifieds web site.

I wonder if I can complain about it on Kijiji.
