Landing fire department

i was under the assumption that the landing firehall would stay operating with staff run from vernon.
yet today i was heading into town and pulled over for a firetruck with sirens etc heading towards the lake by the firehall.
what shocked me is the firehall was dead and dark.
so in fact it appears vernon council is lying, when there is a emergency landing residents will sit and wait as trucks come from other stations.
so they are going to use it to help with fireworks and pancake breakfasts?

Kinda silly to call someone a liar based on an assumption would you not agree?

I see it almost every day. Personally , I think that if I had an "Emergency" I would want help to come from as close as possible.

The Hall was Dark because it is a Volunteer Hall. It isn't staffed by paid firefighters because the landing area doesn't have the call volume to warrant paid staffing. Everything in the okanagan landing is dual response, so naturally the crew responding from down town usually is on the truck and at the emergency long before the volunteers get out of their houses, drive to the firehall, then drive the fire engine to the emergency.

I too think it is pretty harsh to be calling people a liar. Espescially when you are ignorant to the facts regarding the matter at hand.

well i may be incorrect but far from ignorant, are you one of the liars?
if not then its my opinion and im allowed it.
i have talked to many in the area and they all feel lied to so maybe its a very popular opinion.
when did you move to the landing?
i moved there in 1971 so i have seen who generally used to respond to calls.
bet you dont even live there.

Okanagan Landing Fire Department does not, and never has provided First Responder Incident response. Fact.

The OKLVFD was disbanded by a bunch of biased misinformed people in my opinion. The whole deal should have been left as is.When there is nothing broke there is no need for repair. This was a typical union bullying deal in my opinion and also partly due of the new fire chief.People must remember that good council people like patrick david strongly oppose this poorly thought out unnecceary movement.
