^^^Got 41 items for $19 today. Taking a friend tomorrow so she can grab some yeast and whatever else she can find for stocking stuffers for the grandchildren. Need a few more Christmas cookie tins plus there are a few things I didn't get today that I just might grab while we're there.

It's in the little mall between Staples and SuperStore ... next to Original Joe's and across from the oil lube place.

Thanks!

I knew that store was going out back in August but couldn't say anything to anyone. As I knew before the employees knew. I repped for a company that had merchandise in it. We got word our account was closed as they filed for bankruptcy Aug 8. My daughter knew early via me as she worked there. When the staff finally got notice it was end of August. She jumped ship early and found a new job instead of staying until the end. My last email from our company was to leave the stock and fixtures we had in there for the trustee to look after. They bought our stock out right and it was their's to figure out what to do with it. The whole chain is gone for that store right across Canada.

...yet dollar store industry is thriving with more and more chains coming. One of them if I'm not mistaken originated here in Okanagan and doing really well on national level.

Obviously NOT if dollar stores are closing, that would mean that the industry is NOT thriving.

Chris, I usually shop at your store but when I can get yeast, socks, cookie tins, kitchen gadgets, etc. at 10/$5.00 saving me money, that's where I'll shop. Not to worry, the money I save will more than likely end up being spent at A Buck or Two.

Went there yesterday to pick up some Christmas stuff. I proceeded to pay and there was only one cashier for a lineup of 15 people. I stood there and waited 5 mins for one customer to pay and said forget it. For the $5 I would've saved it wasn't worth the time.

I used to go there to buy cards. I found the staff friendly but was always the only person there. I'm guessing there are too many dollar stores. There is Buck or Two, Dollar Tree, Dollar Rama and the Dollar Store in Peachland. It probably takes a lot of sales to pay rent, wages, inventory, etc.

It's sad to see a business go but there are only so many customers available to support the vast number of businesses that have opened up on the Westside.

Not everything, but some will, due to market saturation and the close proximity to Kelowna.

I personally thought the stuff in that store was plain junk right from the first, the dollar store next to save on foods has always had much better quality merchandise, The dollar store by the new Theatre is pretty good but none of the new ones come close to the original dollar stores..
