i can sympathize ,they hire when its busy and lay off when it slows.the only way i could get steady work was start my own business.getting ten year in kelowna takes 20.we have never filled the hole western star left.its so expensive to get anything here it makes building things the same .we need to focus on building industry on what we have .fruit wood and cheaper non union labor. we need to support the finish product industries and create jobs and just ship stuff out.and we need to build something real cool to draw people in from around the world with all our wood.get er done walt were countin on ya buddy

This community is stagnating and needs fresh new thinking to revitalize itself. It's not a question as to who is the better Mayor but what is Wally going to do to deliver on his promises?

True dat.

Heres the U.A. deal landing in Kelowna.I sure both mayors were involved in getting it .I beleive Sharon and Walter both love Kelowna and both put there hearts into developing it into the amazing city it is.We should be grateful for all there efforts agree or disagree. Its Walters turn he won and I will support him.Lets see if any one better comes along next time

Business creates jobs. Jobs create money. Money helps people get on their feet.

Focus on jobs and most of our social issues will take care of themselves.

Money is not everything. There is also a social factor. Gray is money. Sharon was money and Social. A much better balance.

Not I have supported him but now "I will support him"?
Doesn't sound like you voted for him but will support him now because the majority of voters supported him at election time with their votes and now you want a spot on the bandwagon.

.
I wanted to vote four change but ended up out of province that day .I really like Gerry Zimmerman, i thought he kicked butt during the fire.I felt so bad when he got sick and was so happy when he got better. I almost felt like it destined to be ,although liking some of Sharons' work and thought her a very nice lady .I felt we needed more infrastructure done in kelowna and not so much cosmetics .Half of rutland still doesn't have sewers. We needed less touchy feely and more hump and grind. Why I say I support Walter now is because I think we should be proud of and support our Mayor.Lets wait till next election to start campaigning for another.American politics has gone bad because they wont stop campaigning and compromise at all.The council is cooperating better now and i think we need that to get things done.

Thank you for the link, I never actually read it. I was however under the impression the plans for the budget this year was in place (partially anyhow) with last years budget plans? They sort of knew where things would fall telling homeowners what to expect in increase in property taxes etc. Maybe I read that wrong but perhaps that helped also.
