But, there is and always will be all the "what if's". To me, that is a huge problem.....so happy I do not live anywhere close to West Kelowna/Peachland and that I live on an acreage and do not have to deal with neighbors!

I am well aware of that but deer do get mauled and that is not the point. The point is containing an animal and having it under control. All dogs do not chase wildlife and all dogs don't have to chase cats.

You brought up the deer, not me. lol I agree with you on many things but it is almost like one time you are for Diesel and another you are not....not that it matters much to me what side you are on or if there should even be "sides". I just know there is no way in H that I would live within the area that RDCO covers....and I have good dogs and am a good owner and I have respect for other people....but crap happens and I would never take that chance...and, luckily, we will be moving out of Canada....but if we were to move within...the first thing I would check is the law pertaining to pets/livestock and how it is dealt with.

I'm not for anyone owning a pet that can't look after it to start with. Dogs that cannot be controlled need a better home.

Build a really tall fence. Deer carry ticks which is something your dogs don't want.

I can't afford a really tall fence just to keep out ticks. there's plenty of ticks in the bush, so you just deal with it.

I agree, but not every owner has the same idea on what is "look after"....to a lot of them, you would have to explain. To some it is good food, lots of love, space to run and play.....to others it is complete and utter control in all circumstances. So, if you take your dog to an off leash dog park, you cannot tell me that you have complete control if your dog is off leash

To point out that chasing another animals has severe consequences.

Yup...especially in RDCO...ticket at minimum, death at max. I would never want my dogs to stress out another animal by chasing them....but, crap happens sometimes. Again, there can be a difference in the opinion of levels of "control". As with my horses, ideas on training, feeding, what's cruel and what's not.....vary vastly....no different than with dogs or other pets.

be very careful, if it is a doe, she can and will if given the chance, rip open your dog. Especially when spring comes and she has her babies.
