Oh I've seen those in the states, sounds like just what we need oh well at least someone is willing to use the building. Nothing like a business that gets its stock for free and turns around and make huge profits and a fraction of it ends up to the cause.

Wouldn't some of that stock go to a habitat home here instead of being sold?

Good point you would think that would be a good idea but they would probably say they only build with new energy efficient materials or new materials so they will last longer but I have no idea what they do other than run a business may as well have done a forum on that the zellers isn't doing anything anytime soon. I Spoke with a manager at city furniture as they were closing and he mentioned sales were bad there (obviously) they closed and won't be re opening on the westside anytime soon.

I wonder if the Sandhu family struck a better deal at the Zellers location?

Don't hold your breath or believe everything you read! That is a massive building for chity furniture they would be doomed, their sales were not good in Westbank forcing them out and to distribute what they called their blow out moving sale left overs to the remaining stores

Not holding my breath but it would be a better location for a furniture store than where they were - more people and more parking.

I heard they were tearing down extra foods and zellers and making a 2 story super mall with an indoor amusement park and skating rink that would rival West Ed now that it doesn't look like costco or any of the other things people had thought panned out

There isn't enough space there to rival West Ed. I bet those buildings are just going to sit there empty forever.

I'm not a better but Id bet and agree with you its a pretty sure bet nothing will be happening there anytime soon blockbuster included. I don't know why they don't tear down extra foods and the zellers once they wrap things up.
