Re: Drunken Landscaper Rams Member
I found it strange that Castanet commented on the damage to the truck, which was fairly minimal, but not the demolished cruiser.

It was reported destroyed. Pretty straightforward.

Actually the title of the headline is "RCMP Cruiser Destroyed"

The story has since been updated, originally it simply said the cruiser was t-boned.

News stories are constantly being updated - give reporters a chance. At 6:30 in the morning it's almost a given that story would have more information later on. So is this about a drunk, a landscaper, a police cruiser or police member? There's already a thread on drunk driving.

The applicable remark I should have posted:
Hope the member makes a speedy recovery.

That member is sure lucky he didn't have his head ripped off sideways due to the severity of that impact adding the fact its the worst possible senario being a side Tbone impact. Very lucky indeed. I bet thats worth at least 2 days off because he will be one sore puppy for a while. I don't see many shoulder checks for a month or so at least.
I know this because I was hit exactly the same way in a jeep cherokee just about as hard. In my case they pushed the passenger compartment all the way onto my lap and I had to be cut out of the truck. I remember how sore I was for about a month and man , my neck from the side impact felt like it was on fire . I should have used a brace for a while but it was so sore even the brace hurt when I relaxed my head and let it sit on the brace so i had to take it off and be very careful and slow and deliberate for a time...I will never forget that one. Oh ya and she was totally pisssed as well something like 3 times the limit.

Re: Drunken Landscaper Rams Member
I would like to see something posted on the news for an update as to how the Officer is? I don't care about how the drunk driver is, he caused it. They didn't say what the Officers his/her injuries were. The guy had to be going at a good clip to hit the cruiser like this and then to have it moved down the block from the force of hitting it.

It's about another drunk driver - every profession has been involved from premiers to blue collar workers.

Pretty shocking to see first thing this morning opening up the news. The video, not sure why they put it up, no value.

Says he made the arrest after the collision (or something like that) .. If it were me , I'd have lit him up like the July 1st fireworks display in Ottawa with a tazer...
