There have been so many suggestions, but as far as I know it will still be a thru road to Oyama renamed Pelmeway Parkway (stupid name).

Would be nice if they resurfaced that whole stretch after they open the new part. Anyone know if that is in the works?

Crazy plan. They should tear up that old, useless, duplicated road and sell the lakefront lots to recoup the money spent on the new highway! There are always wealthy people who are looking for lakefront in the Okanagan. But what does the gov't care? They'll just tack the costs on to the tax bills and like good, obedient, Canadian sheep we'll just keep paying and paying and paying!

Um, how are people suppose to access these lots if you tear up the only road leading to their houses? Leaving the road is the most reasonable thing to do because it allows access to the lake as well as the properties along that stretch of road.

But it is mostly cliff on one side and lake on the other so how would you have access?

How ironic that you should preface your idea with the words "crazy plan". :dyinglaughing:

Once the new highway is open the old highway will be transfered to the district and it will be there responsibility for upkeep. I also heard the speed limit on the old stretch will be lowered to 50 kph. and yes that is a stupid name
