Police are investigating and advise two people found deceased in the SUV were the driver and a passenger and although the airbags were deployed the crash did not appear to be serious enough to cause death.
A second passenger fled the scene but it is unclear if he was located.

Lots of speculation.
I'm more curious at the location.....looking at the pictures there are only stairwell lights on in the building. A bit strange if the police were there from 11:30pm until this morning that there is not one light on in any of the units. Perhaps a new stage of the development and no residents in this complex so easy to do this "set up" if that is what it is. I used to have pillar lights like that in my driveway and I sincerely doubt that they caused the deaths considering it was knocked over in this case. Certainly not like hitting a large boulder etc.

I notice no looky loos or comments from residents either.

Guess we will just have to see.

That's all you can do when there's limited information. That SUV couldn't have been travelling very fast in the driveway of that complex, yet both the driver and passenger are dead. Maybe 10-20km/hr? Airbags would have deployed when the vehicle struck the standard.

Very obvious something else was responsible for the deaths of those two people....One male passenger, who was sitting behind the two deceased, fled on foot....hmmm...I think we all can imagine what happened here.

It doesn't sound like it was a huge crash even though the airbags went off. I am curious if the second passenger was located. Does look awfully suspicious..

No doubt...Hopefully they turn out to be criminals/drug dealers.

I don't believe she is making light of the deaths. She is laughing about the stereotyping by make and colour of vehicle involved.
Aside from that, dark humour is often the way people deal with situations which might be uncomfortable.

Chill. If they are gang members or drug dealers, dead is better than alive, IMNSHO.

But GG is right - my comment was about the stereotyping - black Escalade usually equals drugs/gangs/criminals in Kelowna.

Definitely shady if they're dead in what should've been a non-fatal accident. I'm curious to hear what the actual cause and time of death are.
