Who would be stupid enough to buy it when the Indians are standing there with their hands out?

Oh right, municipal politicians...

Answered my own question.

The City of Kelowna is not interested in the portion of the line the natives want. The COK is only interested in purchasing the portion of the line within it's own municipal boundaries. This is part of the problem with reaching a deal with CN because it will take a consortium of interested parties to purchase the whole line as no single buyer wants the entire thing except for the bicyclists and they do not have $50mil

Funny how the Indians are now claiming all the lakefront along Kal. Why bother with the lower valued sections, when you can skim the gravy along the lake?

Good news! Hopefully they will be able to negotiate a deal with the First Nation so that the trail will be continuous.

I'm hoping for a super awesome bike trail from Kelowna to Vernon!

With a cost of $61,000 per acre it is a smokin' deal.

Waiting to hear the details on the deal...like how much is being shared by each of the jurisdictions (City of Kelowna, District of Lake Country, RDCO, etc), how it will be paid for, how much of an impact this will have on my property tax, etc

Lets hope all parties can get on this.....the quicker the better.
While they're at it, why not plan on a light rail connection from Kelowna to Vernon?

"The corridor is approximately 47.5 kms long extending from Kelowna’s north end to Mile 88 in Coldstream." Can not find the width of the right-of-way anywhere. Does anyone know?
