However, when staying at the gospel mission, you are not allowed to be all drugged up on whatever your fix is. They do drug tests quite frequently from what I understand. It is a place where people can potentially escape the drug life (assuming they actually want to quit their addiction - of course, the system can be manipulated just as any system can be).

Times may have changed, but about 6 years ago, the Gospel Mission didn't do drug testing on their clients. What they did do was reject or eject people who were visibly intoxicated or otherwise disruptive.

At the time, the Mission ran an in-house rehab program (with separate beds for clients of that program), and drug testing would surely have been a part of that particular program.

It wouldn't make sense to do drug testing on their regular (non rehab) clients. They'd be potentially kicking out people who may have done drugs a day or more ago but were not intoxicated on a night they needed to spend there. The staff (rightfully so) relied on their intuition to determine whether or not someone was too intoxicated to be there.

It's also unlikely that the Mission has the resources available to regularly drug test people.
