I frequent areas of this park and I'm sick of being harassed by off leash dogs.... Any dog that's off leash and comes running at me is in danger of my self defense. Just saying.

it would just be nice to see the city do something, anything about this big problem, and I mean fix the problem not a bandaid fix,

Yeah, but you would feel terrible for hurting an animal when its really the owners fault correct? I know I would have to protect my tiny dog and maybe really hurt the attacking animal but I would feel very bad for a long time if I did that.

Of course anyone who would seriously hurt an animal and enjoyed it (aside from hunting it for food) is one step away from a serial killer, pediphile and every other terrible human being.

I will protect my dog at all costs and can live with the consequences.

I can too, but my point was that I would still feel pretty bad about crushing in some poor dogs skull because some idiot owner doesn't leash it. It has nothing to do with living with it or not. Agree? Probably not, this is Castanet, but surprise me.

Anyone can purchase a small, single-use dog deterrent (aka pepper spray); it is legal to carry, and is a better alternative than anything that could break bones, etc. I carry one because the coyotes make me nervous on my morning jogs.

I've had to protect my dogs but have never resorted to the violence you suggest.

Me neither, its just a fear that it may come down to that one day. That puppy down by the lake could have used that kind of protection.

To the lady riding her horse in MCP today around 5 pm, who is also having her unleashed dog with her. YOU'RE NOT THAT SPECIAL! Rules do apply to people even of your status.

Just enforcing the existing rules would be a start.

Has it ever been asked why bylaws are complaint driven instead of enforced proactively?
