You say that like it is a bad thing.

Nope. I say it as an option that the city clearly does not want.

I fully realize that opinions vary on this and everything else.

One element from this development that concerns me is the money that apparently is going to be poured into the park. This was from the original Castanet article:

"Council has also approved $1.35 million for construction of Phase Two of a park on the Central Green property fronting Rowcliffe Avenue."

First: How does it take $1.35 million to construct a park? You need grass, a few trees and shrubs and some benches to sit on.

Second: why is the taxpayer on the hook for this? Why isn't this provided by the developer as part of the overall project cost?

I drove down Richter past this development yesterday, I did not stop for a
better look.
The building facing Richter with all of it's brick work is what I would consider
good use of materials to fit what I consider appropriate for the area.
I like it.

At a glance, everything else just looked like infill of boxes.

Remember you are talking about the City of Kelowna here, and if there's one thing that they are obsessed with it's parks.

It really seems the amount of funds they direct towards that obsession has gotten ridiculous.

Maybe that price tag includes another spiffy biffy.

No to a rental building.

Yes to an apt building with strata.

And the "park is still a missing piece in this puzzle" meaning it's still go room for a park? Where?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

I hear you Q .. NOTHING to rent ..

Maybe , just maybe . the CoK mayor and council will nix the park in favour of a "below market" rental builing.... for a paltry 10 years. drops mic and walks away

right, no "low income housing" for Stober to build. So the entire place is like this? NO low income components?

Maybe Stober has an "alter ego" like our "Mayor Sugar Plum " ???

This isn't just a "coincidence" IMO

No - the Karis Society is built and open offering transitional housing to women. And the Ki-Lo-Na Friendship society is built and open for low income rentals.
