To Catri ...

You have to differentiate between the rules we have to keep some degree of order in the real world we live in and the theoretic, magical world of no rules envisioned by those who have the silly notion that rules only cause problems and that humans would be far better off living in a world without rules.

List of Authorized Licensed Producers under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations.

This will be a interesting case to see what the outcome of it is. Grower takes Health Canada to court.

Good riddance, a +1 to improving the community.

To oscillate_wildly ...

If by "good riddance" you mean for operating illegally in selling non licensed THC I would fully agree with you.

If you mean for being in business within the terms of their licence we will have to disagree.

This article from The Province today answered some of my questions.

http://www.theprovince.com/health/going ... story.html

It sounds like the Vancouver Police have decided to leave the dispensary's alone in Vancouver. They have chosen to use their limited resources in more constructive ways.

This article explains that none of the dispensary's in Vancouver have business licenses. They are effectively operating illegally. That said, most of the dispensary owners are pushing for their business to be regulated so they can operate without the fear of being shut down.

The Vancouver dispensaries will more than likely start feeling some heat now that they were featured on Marketplace on the weekend. The guy with the pot vending machine in Vancouver had $1,000,000 go through his machine in 3 months. It would be my guess that taxation will happen soon.

How can you tax an illegal activity.

Not hard to tax an illegal activity, the only issue is admitting that the revenue was illegal when reporting it.

Wonder if they can report it as herb sales, but report every nickle of it.

To Prestige Mike ...

Interesting that it is the dispensaries in Colorado and Washington who. like Vancouver, are pushing the hardest for more regulation in the industry. It seemed to me that both have reasonable regulations and accountability except for the four to six plant home grows that are, in part, fuelling the black market. Which is thus able to sell any substance they want to call marijuana at a reduced price.

I dont see 4 plants fuelling much of a black market.
I do see countless warehouses full of illegal pot fuelling a black market.

To Bman ...

Nope. In Colorado and Washington it is because the black market does not have to meet any quality control standards or purity standards, or pay any taxes and can thus sell cheaper, thus cutting into the legal retail profits.

Criminal activity relative to marijuana that some seem to believe does would not exist if marijuana was made more available in Canada.

Reality over theory.

To Bman ...

Four plants times a million people is a lot of black market marijuana, The "warehouses full" (your words) of larger illegal grows run by criminal groups and criminal gangs are in addition to that.

Something a number of people associated to the Sensible BC and other strings repeatedly denied and swore could and would never happen if Canada made marijuana more available.

Reality over theory.

I wonder how much of the THC marijuana in Washington State originates in BC and how it got to Washington ?? Especially since Washington outlets are running a constant product shortage ??

I'm sure glad that Criminal Drug Groups are not prospering because of it (according to a few badly misled people who claim criminal drug gangs no longer have anything to do with THC marijuana).lol
