The people who are hoping for the thunder and lightning sorm of the century should be taken back inside and their doctor notified of a relapse. The only people who hope for a "huge storm" are those who have never been in one.

Nothing wrong with enjoying Mother Nature as it happens - you can't stop the weather. Nobody said anything about hoping for the storm of the century.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Didn't realize the photo from the traffic cam I posted on the first page updates automatically. Blue sky now.

I sometimes miss the evenings sitting on the roof of the bar in Olds Alberta watching sheets of lightening from horizon to horizon.
Same as being in Esterhazy Sask as a kid getting blasted by rain and looking in awe at the lightening.

Winnipeg was having thunder and lightning storms with little or no rain when I was there.

Nonstop thunderstorms all afternoon here in kamloops. I don't have my rain gauge here but I'd say at least 50mm has fallen.

...that's why we live here and not in Kamloops...

You'd better call my doctor then. I love a good rippin' thunderstorm.

12mm at my place today in the Okanagan. Most of it fell in about 3 minutes. Rain came sideways through an open window and ruined a book sitting on the window sill.
Kamloops had 20.4 mm today.
Vernon had 20.5 mm today.
Kelowna had 7.6 mm today.
Summerland had 5.6 mm today.
Penticton had 9.0 mm today.
Osoyoos had 2.5 mm today (plus a few mm yesterday).

Re: Thunderstorm warning - watch out!
I "watched out" until dark but did not see anthing other than a drizzle now and again.
Due to the terrain around Kelowna I do not think it is possible to determine which area, if any, thunderstorms may or may not hit. We often see them to the North, South, East and West of us but rarely experience one of any magnitude in the east-west valley. The Valley of the Kings in Canada ??
