Shaw owns CHBC.

Maybe this is why they are not around. Someone forgot to unlock the cage?

I just watched the 11:00 news tonight. I couldn't take it and switched it off.

And, of course, Russ Richardson should be brought back.

Loved Paul Orvins closing.....every night was a different length of time before saying goodnight. Sometimes, we'd just sit and wait for like 15 seconds, then it came.....good night.
They don't make personalities like that anymore, and if they did, they'd be teased and taunted I'm sure.

The 'local' Okanagan news seems to be a badly produced news program. It bounces around back and forth between local, national, Vancouver, weather, sports, etc. and other news items with no consistent sequence.
and while I'm at it a comment in general. With all the important news events in the world don't sports seem to take up a disproportionate amount of time?

Maybe they should get it over with and close the station down. Or at least, have the Vancouver personalities read our news, not the Toronto ones.

Re: What happened to CHBC/GLOBAL news at 11?
I sat down and watched the 11 newscast last night. That was quite possibly the worst news and weather report I have ever seen. The weather was the worst, I don't understand how you can do one long term forecast for the entire Central Okanogan, and not break it down into areas. I agree with a previous post regarding the use of "we" coming from people in Toronto! Won't be watching that again, I consider it a total waste of time, and resent getting Western Canadian news from Toronto!.

Yep I remember Paul Orvins back when weatherperson wrote the temps with a marker.
