Lot of bad news
Loads of bad news headlines today. Would LOVE to hear something great. Something awesome that's happening out there. This town needs a pick me up.
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

I found $20.
Does that work?
Does that work?
Sarcasm is like a good game of chess. Most people don't know how to play chess.

Re: Lot of bad news
There are a lot of good things happening in the world all around us! Unfortunately it is the bad stuff that makes the headlines.
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Funny story on the front page about the Allah Akbar wifi name lol
People are so stupid. As if Islamists are going to announce an impending attack through a wifi name.

Horrible couple of news days. First the little girl in Alberta, then the poor kid in Penticton. It's heartbreaking.

I don't understand how someone can run down a child in a crosswalk if distracted driving or alcohol were not factors.

Ya a kid never jumps out when their not supposed to. Lets not convict and hang someone before we know the facts. (if we ever hear them)
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

It's under investigation:
CastanetReports say the young boy was with his father and brother when he was struck. They were on bicycles, but it is not known if they were walking their bikes through the crosswalk or riding them.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

You're telling me not to accuse the driver and in the same breath you're accusing the dead child.
Most of us watch what is happening at crosswalks ahead and if we see kids of any age we slow down and stop. There is no excuse.
Alcohol, distraction or perhaps the person couldn't see the road ahead out of their jacked-up truck.

I'm assuming you're responding to someone else - I haven't accused anyone.

or the sun was in the drivers eyes, or they were crossing against the light or.............
At this point, with the information we have there's no way to know what or who was to blame for the accident.

Do yourself a favour. Turn it all off. Your phone, computer, forums, TV, the news. Find something you love to do and do it. Take your kids, go for a walk, play with your dog, Golf, climb a mountain, knit, read a good book, find your own peace.
